1. DC level setting
The LED Driver usually is designed to operate on DC voltage and pulsed DC voltage. For a reliable operation, make sure that also in DC emergency operation, the LED driver is run within the specified conditions as stated in the datasheet. The DC level function settings are as follows.
·Behaviour during DC operation: Normal operation or fixed control value (DC output power, EL)
·Light output level in DC operation: programmable 1 - 100% (there is a factory default preset value, adjustable)
Notice
The voltage-dependent input current of Driver including LED module is depending on the used load.
Check the voltage-dependent no load current of Driver (without or defect LED module) for AC input and DC input in the datasheet.
Check the Emergency Output factor in current (EOFi) parameter in the datasheet.
2. Dimming on DC
In DC input operation, dimming mode also can be activated. If Dimming on DC is activated, the requirements of the DC input recognition function are ignored. In this condition, even if DC input is detected, the LED driver continues to behave as in AC input mode as follows.
·The present dimming level is retained
·An emergency light level defined for the DC input recognition function (DC level) is ignored
·Control signals via DALI continue to be executed
If Dimming on DC is activated, then emergency mode is not recognized. The device no longer automatically switches to the emergency light level.
3. Program procedure
1) Method 1: Using Tools/Control gear wizard... entrance.
① Click Tools/Control gear wizard... to enter wizard page.
② Select “DC level” on Control gear wizard tab.
③ Tab: “DC level”.
Change the DC level percentage and click “Program” to set.
④ Check the commands in DALIMonitor interface.
The masterConfigurator software tool programs the DC level via setting DTR0 value at corresponding level in logarithmic dimming curve and sending twice “0x00FF45” eD private commands.
2) Method 2: Using Tridonic-specific configuration entrance.
① Right-click the addressed control device under configuration
② Select “Features” tab on Tridonic-specific configuration.
③ Tab: “Features”
In the “Behaviour during DC operation” section,
·Using “Fixed control value (0-100%)” to set DC level percentage.
·Using “Normal operation” to enable dimming on DC input.
·Using “save” button to implement setting and save persistent variables.
Also checking from the DALIMonitor interface, we know that the DC level value writes in Memory Bank 2 Location 0x03 in logarithmic dimming curve, and dimming on DC is enabled by setting bit3 = 1 in Memory Bank 2 Location 0x05.
3) Method 3: Using Tools/Command administrator... entrance and DALI commands
4) Method 4: Using Tools/Command administrator... entrance and Command sequence
