A method how to program the DC Level of LED driver with EL Mark (1)

LED Driver for emergency lighting is a crucial component that ensures the proper operation of LED fixtures during power outages or emergencies. LED Drivers are responsible for regulating the electrical current and voltage supplied to the LED light source when powered by DC voltage from batteries. It is important to effection and security, I will explain how to make proper setting here in several steps, welcome to read and commend if any.

In emergency light systems with a central battery supply, the DC input recognition function uses the input voltage to detect if emergency mode is present.

The LED Driver then automatically switches to DC mode and dims the light to the defined DC level. Without DC input recognition, different and more complex solutions would have to be applied in order to detect emergency mode. DC input recognition is integrated in the device as standard function for some LED Drivers. No additional commissioning is necessary for activation.

Caution!

This is a safety-relevant parameter.

The setting is relevant for the capacity of the central battery system.

Notice

Check the EN 50172, EN 60598-2-22 standard compatibility and EL mark compliant in driver’s datasheet or on product label.

Check the DC input voltage range in driver’s datasheet or on product label, to make sure that is suitable for the output voltage of the central battery system.

For some Tunable White drivers, a colour temperature (unit in Kelvin) can be set in addition to the intensity value (%).
